Further information on the scientific conference and workshops with practical applications.
Five years after the flood disaster in July 2021, it is time for a critical review of disaster research in German-speaking countries: What insights have been gained from the scientific analysis of the flood, and what questions remain unanswered? Which regions and topics have been well researched, and which have been neglected? How can the (ecological, social, and institutional) transformations accelerated by the flood be recorded and sustainably shaped in certain regions? And what role does disaster research play in a time of multiple crises?
We invite you to submit proposals for contributions in the following areas, particularly on the following topics:
- Taking stock – research successes, blind spots, and long-term studies
- Reconstruction and transformation – “Build Back Better & Greener”?
- Multi-crises: Research in the age of overlapping disasters
Please feel free to contact us. Together with 12 other co-organizers, we are putting together an interesting program.
